PIVETEAUBOIS is a family-run business with a deep passion for wood and over 65 years expertise from selecting the best quality softwood from eco-certified forests in France and Poland, to wood processing as well as designing, manufacturing and delivering high-quality and innovative timber products.

Brief Company History :

1948 : Pierre PIVETEAU, Sr. Creates a small carpentry business
1954 : Logging activities start with the creation of a sawmill in Sainte-Florence
1971 : SCIERIE PIVETEAU (PIVETEAU SAWMILL) becomes a limited company. Pierre Piveteau, Jn. Is appointed as Managing Director.
1980 : A second transformation production site with kiln dryers and a planing mill is set up in La Vallée, Sainte-Florence
1984 : The first vaccum pressure treatment plant is launched
1990 : Launch of joinery-grade Glulam activities
1991 : The first Vivre en Bois distribution platform opens its doors in the French overseas territories
1994 : Sylva sawmill is launched in Wiele, Poland.
2004 : The Piveteau family takes over the FARGES sawmill, a partner site.
2005 : Launch of wood energy range with PELLETS
2006 : Launch of composite timber range with WEX.
2007 : Launch of structural Glulam activities with 13m Glulam beams
2012 : The first wood-fuelled combined heat and power plant is launched in Sainte-Florence.
2013 : Pierre Piveteau, Jr. hands over the management of the company’s operations to his brother Jean Piveteau and his children Catherine and Philippe Piveteau.
2014 : Launch of the 15th Vivre en Bois distribution platform in France
